Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine is seeking an Unaccredited Neurosurgical Registrar to provide clinical and surgical services and contribute to the development of the unit.

The successful candidate will be trained by Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine, located on campus at Macquarie University Health.

Whilst this full time position is not a position recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) for training, it will provide the successful candidate with an outstanding opportunity to experience neurosurgery in a private university hospital and academic health science centre.

The candidate will also actively participate in the weekly education and academic meetings.

In addition the successful candidate will attend outreach clinics at various locations in regional New South Wales.

Our patient centred approach includes weekly Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, harnessing the intellectual capability and expertise of cross functional teams. Bringing together neurosurgeons, neurologists, interventional neuroradiologists, pain specialists, oncologists, orthopaedics surgeons, ENT specialists as the team manage complex conditions and more routine disorders to provide patients with the best possible medical care.

Training will be provided under the supervision of our subspecialist neurosurgeons.

Key responsibilities

- Provide clinical and surgical services
- Contribute to the development of the neurosurgery unit
- Actively participate in weekly education and academic meetings
- Attend outreach clinics at various locations in regional New South Wales

About you

- Registration as a medical practitioner in Australia (AHPRA).




- Active [or eligible to be an active] Accredited Practitioner of Macquarie University Hospital
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Working with Children’s Check Clearance for NSW
- Criminal record checkImmunization and Vaccinations Check
- If you are an overseas applicant, you must provide evidence of your proficiency in the OET or IELTS English language (written, spoken and reading).
- Evidence must be submitted at time of application.https://www.ielts.org/.
- This includes meeting the required score of 7 or above in all components of the IELTS testhttps://www.ielts.org/or a Grade B in the OEThttps://www.occupationalenglishtest.org/.
