Walshs is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper to support in preparation of monthly/quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS), with workflow operational support for other bookkeeping tasks as required.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys coordinating documentation and providing exceptional service to clients.
About the role:
In this position you will play a crucial part in ensuring our clients receive timely, accurate and friendly support. You’ll coordinate essential documentation, keep workflows on track, and maintain strong relationships with clients and external partners.
You’ll also work closely with an offshore administration resource and other administration resources within Walshs.
What you will do:
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of monthly/quarterly BAS (some manual preparation, mostly Xero).
Manage BAS workflow and operations
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
XERO Payroll - Setup and processing of payroll on an occasional basis
Bookkeeping of client files
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Super Stream calculations and lodgements. Liaise with client for payments to be made
Workcover annual renewal / registration
Constant communication by phone and email with clients to efficiently process theiraccount
Monthly reporting
End of year journals
Assist Bookkeepers and Accountants with completion of special assignments or projects as requested.
Supporting the Firm in generating new clients and/or maintaining existing clients
Supporting the Bookkeeping team and the firm staff with any queries required
Act as the main point of contact for clients, handling non-advice queries
Manage and monitor job flow and manage client due dates
Maintain a positive relationship between the client and Walshs
What you need:
Completion of secondary education - year 12, or equivalent
1-2+ years’ experience in an accounting, bookkeeping or administration role is preferred but not essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised, flexible and able to prioritise effectively
A willingness to learn and grow within the role
A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
A positive team attitude and strong relationship-building skills
