TECHNICAL DIRECTOR ~ DATA CENTERS (Construction, Design, Engineering) – PRVIATE REAL ESTATE FUND MANAGER – c.$400k ++

Our client is a sophisticated and fully integrated Property Investment Group based in Sydney who boast an enviable track record of delivering successful real estate product across the country. This group has a seriously robust track record and they hold a clear strategy of development focused growth with pipeline emerging on the eastern seaboard of Australia, focused on greenfield “ground-up” Data Center development.

As the Technical Director for the group, the relevant candidates will have complete technical ownership of a Data Center portfolio, defining what the strategy and design across the powered portfolio should look like as best-in‑class product, covering engineering, design and construction delivery. The successful candidate will also help drive the tenant strategy in parallel with the Development Director, understanding and defining how all technical aspects execute upon the customer market’s requirements. The role spans critical environments, mechanical, water, power, cooling and tenant design brief management.

Expected Background/ Requirements:

- 10+ years' experience in data centre development market;
- Engineering or technology academics background with strong grasp of mechanical, power and water solutions;
- Understanding of hyperscale tenant requirements;
- Strong understanding of power systems, cooling systems and DC design standards/compliance;
- Working knowledge of DC connectivity strategy;
- Connections within the utilities market;
- Proven ability to stand up a team to deliver high pressure, high value projects;
- Journey focused outlook, the desire to build a platform as opposed to delivering upon an already established/ inheriting a stabilised portfolio;
- Strong communication skills, the ability to challenge design briefs and consultants, the ability to navigate nuanced situations.
