HandinHand Mental Health & Disability is seeking an experienced Allied Health or Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our leadership team as Coordinator – Allied Health & Positive Behaviour Support.

The role is available full-time and operates on a hybrid basis, with attendance at our Brisbane or Maroochydore offices as operationally required.

HandinHand Mental Health & Disability is a growing national allied health and behaviour support provider delivering services across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

Our multidisciplinary team includes Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Social Workers and Speech Pathologists.

We support children, adolescents and adults through the NDIS, Medicare, private and third-party funding, delivering person-centred, evidence-based services underpinned by strong clinical governance, ethical practice, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Coordinator supports the effective day-to-day delivery of Allied Health and Positive Behaviour Support services for their allocated team of practitioners.

You will work closely with practitioners, Clinical Leads, Intake, Administration, Marketing and the broader leadership team to support practitioner capability, service quality, participant experience, caseload flow and operational performance.

The role balances coordination, practitioner leadership and operational responsibilities with a small clinical caseload.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and practical support to practitioners

- Support intake triage, referral allocation, practitioner matching and caseload distribution

- Monitor practitioner caseloads, capacity, utilisation and service-delivery timeframes

- Identify and resolve service-level barriers, delays and participant concerns

- Support practitioners to meet documentation, reporting, clinical quality and service-delivery expectations

- Assist with quality assurance,



continuous improvement, compliance and audit preparedness

- Monitor relevant Behaviour Support Plan, restrictive practice, incident and reporting timeframes

- Support appropriate responses to participant feedback, concerns and complaints

- Identify complex, high-risk, reportable or legally sensitive matters and elevate appropriately

- Support practitioner onboarding, development and performance

- Provide mentoring and supervision within professional scope and delegated authority

- Support and monitor agreed KPIs relating to service delivery, quality, participant experience and operational efficiency

- Promote a positive, supportive and culturally responsive multidisciplinary environment

- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and sustainable organisational growth

- Maintain a small clinical caseload, to maintain practice skills.

Role Scope & Governance

The Coordinator has an important leadership role supporting practitioner capability, operational effectiveness, service quality and compliance.

The position operates within authority delegated by the Operations Manager and works collaboratively with HandinHand's Clinical Supervisors and Executive Team.

High-risk, reportable, safeguarding or legally sensitive matters must be escalated through the appropriate governance pathway.

About You

You are an experienced practitioner who enjoys supporting people, developing teams and finding practical solutions.

You will bring:

- A recognised degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or a related Allied Health discipline

- or NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability.

- Ideally 2+ years' experience in a leadership role pertaining to allied health

- Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment

- Experience supporting complex or higher-risk participant presentations

- Understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards

- Strong clinical reasoning and professional judgement





- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including high-quality report writing

- Strong organisational and self-management skills

- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced and growing organisation

- Confidence supporting and mentoring practitioners across disciplines

- A collaborative, calm and solutions-focused leadership style

- A genuine commitment to ethical, person-centred and high-quality service delivery

Experience in team coordination, practitioner supervision, intake, quality assurance, compliance, audit preparation or service improvement will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

Depending on your professional discipline:

- Current NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner Suitability for Behaviour Support Practitioners

- Current AHPRA registration for applicable registered health professions

- Relevant professional registration, certification or membership where applicable

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Current Working with Children Check, where applicable

- Current Australian Driver Licence

- Right to work in Australia
