Martial Arts Coach / Children's Sports Coach – Full time or Part-Time

Turn Your Passion for Coaching, Sport or Martial Arts Into a Career

Love working with kids? Passionate about martial arts or sport? Looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference while building a rewarding career?

Martial Arts Queensland is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and reliable Martial Arts Instructor / Children's Coach to join our team.

You don't need experience in our specific martial arts system — we'll train you.

What matters most to us is your ability to connect with children, confidently lead a group, motivate students and create an environment where kids feel supported, challenged and excited to learn.

You might already be a martial arts instructor, an experienced martial artist wanting to turn your passion into a career, or a children's sports coach looking for an exciting new direction.

About the Role

The majority of your coaching will be with children, helping them develop confidence, discipline, resilience, respect and practical self-defence skills in a fun and engaging environment.

You'll be involved in:

- Teaching martial arts classes for children, teens and adults
- Leading and engaging groups of children with confidence and enthusiasm
- Helping students develop their skills, confidence and self-belief
- Building positive relationships with students and their families
- Providing exceptional customer service to members and prospective students
- Helping create a positive, professional and welcoming academy environment
- Supporting the general day-to-day operation of the academy, including light cleaning and administrative duties

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

- Genuinely enjoys working with children
- Is confident, energetic and comfortable leading groups
- Can engage, motivate and encourage young people

- Has excellent communication and people skills
- Is friendly and approachable with both children and parents
- Is reliable, punctual and professional
- Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team
- Is keen to learn and continue developing as a coach and instructor

You might currently be a martial arts instructor, sports coach, gymnastics coach, swimming teacher, dance or cheer coach, teacher aide, or someone who has spent years training in martial arts and would love the opportunity to make it your career.

Martial Arts & Coaching Experience

Experience in martial arts is highly regarded, but experience in our particular system is not required.

We provide extensive instructor training, mentoring and ongoing development to help you become a confident Martial Arts Queensland instructor.

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

- Japanese Jujitsu
- Kenpo Karate
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
- Muay Thai

Applicants from other martial arts backgrounds are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Not a Martial Arts Instructor? We'd Still Love to Hear From You.

If you have experience coaching children in another sport or activity, your skills may be a great fit.

We encourage applications from coaches with backgrounds in areas such as:

- Gymnastics
- Football or soccer
- Rugby league or rugby union
- AFL
- Netball
- Basketball
- Swimming
- Dance
- Cheerleading
- Other children's sports or activities

We'll teach you our martial arts systems — your ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people is just as important as your martial arts background.
