W & E Platt Pty Ltd are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our R&D; and Manufacturing Engineering teams. In this role, you will be responsible for driving product innovation, overseeing engineering processes, and ensuring seamless integration between design, development, and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers in both R&D; and Manufacturing Engineering.
Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of new products, ensuring they meet both technical and manufacturing requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth transition from R&D; to production.
Manage the resource allocation for engineering projects, balancing short-term project timelines with long-term strategic objectives.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvements in both R&D; and manufacturing Engineering teams.
Identify and resolve technical challenges during product development and manufacturing stages.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in both R&D; and/or manufacturing environments.
Manage engineering budgets, timelines, and project milestones to meet company objectives.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in engineering management, with at least 3 years leading teams in both R&D; and manufacturing engineering environments.
Experience managing teams of 5-9 people or larger is required.
Strong background in product development, manufacturing processes, and systems engineering.
Specific experience in manufacturing and industrial engineering sectors is essential.
Proven experience in managing teams across multiple functions (R&D;, Product Design, Manufacturing).
Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM).
Experience with project management, budget oversight, and resource allocation.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing multiple priorities.
Knowledge of safety protocols, and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing and product development.
