- Level 5, $82,843 - $93,358 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation

The Opportunity

The Academic Support Unit plays a vital role in delivering exceptional teaching, research support and outstanding student experiences across all campuses. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting practical learning by ensuring students and academics have access to the specialised equipment, resources and technical expertise they need to succeed. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Creative Industries dispensary while providing technical support across a diverse range of teaching activities.

Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will help create safe, engaging and well-prepared learning spaces, maintain specialist equipment and resources, and contribute to the continuous improvement of technical support services. Your work will have a direct impact on the quality of the student learning experience, enabling the successful delivery of hands‑on teaching and helping shape the next generation of creative professionals.

You will

- Delivertechnical support for teaching and learningby preparing,facilitatingand maintaining high-quality practical learning experiences fortheEducationdisciplineand the operation of the Creative Industries dispensary;
- Ensure safe and effective operation of facilities, equipment, and resources through instruction, compliance with health and safety policies, risk and waste management, routine maintenance, and the implementation ofnew techniques and procedures; and
- Support workforce capability and collaborationby liaisingandassistingteam members, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

About you

You are a practical, solutions-focused professional who enjoys supporting learning through well‑organised, hands‑on technical services. With experience in education, science, creative industries or a related field, you bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality support for students and staff. You are confident managing competing priorities, maintaining safe and effective learning environments, and working with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.



With a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement, you take pride in providing reliable technical support that enables successful teaching, learning and student experiences.

You will possess:

- Completion of a relevant degree withsubsequentrelevant experience and specialistexpertisein the management of technical compliance across multiple disciplines;
- Experience in the management and mentoring of a team of service delivery technical staff, including the ability toestablishpriorities, achieve cultural change and manage competing resources and deadlines;
- Experience in theoverseeingfacility compliance,including working independently, exercise sound judgement while contributing within a broaderteam;
- Well-developed organisational, time management and communication skills to deliver effective andtimelyclient service in a fast-changing academic environment;
- Proficient working knowledge of policies,guidelinesAustralian Standards, and legislation relevant to a wide range of technical environments including OH&S; requirements, local and federal permit requirements;
- Proficient level of diagnostic analysis of relevant technical systems and equipment, with the ability to apply structured problem solving and analytical skills to identify, assess, and resolve complex issues in line with compliance requirements;
- Strong commitment to client service and ability to embrace and foster a positive work environment within a dynamic organisation; and
- A current class ‘C’ Drivers Licence.
