Transit Tech Aus pty ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis at our Homebush, NSW location. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing light vehicles to the highest standards. As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a vital part in ensuring our clients' vehicles are safe, reliable and performing optimally. This position is central to our operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction and safety on the road.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections and fluid top-ups
- Repair and replace vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems and braking system
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Adhere to all safety protocols and workshop procedures
- Keep work areas clean and organised, managing tools and equipment responsibly
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet workshop deadlines and targets
What we're looking for
- A current automotive trade qualification or equivalent (such as a Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology)
- Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, ideally 4+ years in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of light vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and electrical systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in a workshop environment
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training
