This is a varied, hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of underground civil construction rather than doing the same task every day. The role will involve working alongside civil and HDD crews on a range of infrastructure projects throughout South East Queensland, including works within TMR road corridors and active rail corridors.
Key responsibilities
- Pit and pipe installation
- Open excavation and trenching works
- Underground service relocation works
- Civil construction works within active rail corridors
- Working with and operating excavators ranging from 1.7 tonne through to 30 tonne
- Vacuum excavation and vac truck operation
- Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) assistant / drill hand duties
- Conduit and pipe installation
About you
- Current Construction White Card – mandatory
- Current MR truck licence or above – mandatory
- Ability to pass project and rail‑related medical, drug and alcohol, and competency requirements where required
- Willingness to work within rail corridors, TMR road corridors and other major infrastructure environments
- Solid commitment to workplace safety
- Must be able to reliably travel to Narangba base
- Reliable, safety focused, willing to learn and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience in pit and pipe construction, underground utilities, civil excavation and trenching, rail corridor civil construction, or operating excavators highly regarded
- Full‑time ongoing employment with approximately 50‑hour working weeks
- Typical working hours of 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Majority of work based throughout Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast
- Local South East Queensland work – no FIFO
- Home every night
