About the Centre
Oz Education Lidcombe is a welcoming early learning centre right next to Lidcombe Public School. Licensed for 96 children and catering to ages 0-6 across six rooms, our centre provides a nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. Our dedicated, longstanding team delivers a play-based curriculum that celebrates each child’s individuality, encourages their curiosity, and fosters a lifelong love of learning. With spacious outdoor areas and rich hands‑on experiences, we create opportunities for every child to thrive.

The Position
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full‑time (Monday- Friday) Assistant Director to join our team!
As the Assistant Director, you will support the Centre Director in the daily operations of the centre, helping to lead the team, maintain high standards of care and education, and build strong relationships with families and the community.
Required Qualifications & Desired Skills
Hold a Cert III or Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care
Leadership experience in an Early Education and Care setting
Valid Working with Children Check
National Police Check
Developed knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
Ability to form positive rapport with all children, families, management and educators
Ability to confidently and clearly communicate, relate and interact with children, families, management and educators
Child Safety Commitment
We are a child‑safe organisation committed to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children. Applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding responsibilities in early childhood settings.
Current Child Protection Training
A demonstrated understanding of child protection and safeguarding responsibilities in early childhood settings
Knowledge of mandatory reporting obligations and relevant child protection legislation
Understanding of skilled boundaries and appropriate behaviours when working with children
Ability to identify and respond to indicators of abuse, harm, or neglect
Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality requirements relating to children and families
Experience implementing child‑safe policies and procedures
Applicants will be required to undergo comprehensive background checks, including:
Working With Children Check
National Police Check
Verification of qualifications
Professional reference checks
Employment is conditional upon satisfactory clearance of all child safety screening requirements.
