Job Description

Valuix Pty Ltd Valuix Pty Ltd trading as Lightspeed Locksmiths & Security provides locksmith, physical security and security technology services to residential, commercial and industrial clients. As the business expands its existing security operations into electronic and integrated security solutions, the Security Technician will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis, repair and ongoing maintenance of electronic security equipment and associated systems. The position will work across CCTV surveillance systems, electronic and smart locking systems, access-control equipment, alarms, remote monitoring devices and other connected security technologies.

The role requires strong practical electronics knowledge, diagnostic ability and hands‑on experience with electronic equipment and security hardware. Benefits Market-competitive salary package Stable full-time employment Ongoing training and professional development Career progression within a growing security business Task & responsibilities Install, configure, test and commission electronic security equipment, including CCTV systems, electronic access-control systems, smart locks, biometric access devices, alarm systems, intercoms, sensors and remote monitoring equipment. Examine, test and diagnose faults in electronic security equipment, including control units, power supplies, cabling, sensors and associated components, using appropriate testing equipment, diagnostic tools, manufacturer software and technical documentation to determine required repairs or corrective work.

Repair, adjust and replace defective electronic components, modules, wiring, connectors, sensors,



control equipment and associated security hardware, and test-operate and recommission equipment to confirm correct functionality, system communication, recording, monitoring and access-control operation. Configure and program electronic security equipment and associated connectivity, including access permissions, user credentials, locking functions, CCTV recording parameters, alarm settings, monitoring functions and device communication settings, and troubleshoot connectivity issues affecting network-enabled security devices. Integrate electronic access-control and smart security equipment with locks, doors and other physical security hardware to provide coordinated physical and electronic security solutions for clients.

Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and system inspections to identify deterioration, equipment faults or components requiring adjustment or replacement before system failure occurs. Demonstrate installed systems to customers and provide practical instructions and training regarding system operation, access functions, security equipment controls and procedures intended to prevent incorrect operation or equipment malfunction. Maintain accurate service records, installation reports, equipment details, fault findings, repairs undertaken and testing or commissioning results for completed security work.





Liaise with suppliers and technical representatives regarding equipment specifications, replacement components, compatibility issues and technical support where required to source supplies and complete installations and repairs. Ensure electronic security installation and servicing activities are carried out safely and professionally in accordance with applicable technical standards, work health and safety requirements, manufacturer specifications and security licensing requirements. Remain up to date with security vulnerabilities affecting deployed systems and apply patches or upgrades as necessary.

Qualification & experience Relevant technical qualification in electronics, electronics technology, electrotechnology or a closely related technical field Minimum 2 years’ experience working with electronic equipment and systems and locksmithing, including testing, troubleshooting, repair and technical maintenance, with demonstrated experience diagnosing faults, identifying defective electronic components or system issues, and using electronic testing equipment, technical documentation and computer-based diagnostic or equipment-control systems.
