Your next career opportunity
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, you will lead innovative research that connects pure and applied mathematics, influencing real-world scientific challenges.
You will design and deliver high-impact teaching, mentoring diverse students across undergraduate, MSc and PhD programmes.
You will join a vibrant, internationally connected School with exceptional research support and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities.
What you will deliver:
- Conduct high quality research linking pure and applied mathematics, publishing in leading international journals.
- Secure competitive external research funding and contribute to collaborative projects across the School and Faculty.
- Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics subjects,
including coordination and assessment responsibilities.
- Supervise MSc and PhD research students, fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments and academic success.
- Contribute to School governance, outreach, and public engagement, promoting mathematics within diverse communities.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate research excellence through strong publications and an emerging or established international reputation, relative to opportunity.
- Show capacity to strengthen the school's research and education activities and broaden existing thematic strengths.
- Build productive research collaborations and attract competitive funding through national or international grant or contract schemes.
- Design and teach subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with explicit evidence of supervision potential.
- Contribute collegially to a large school, including leadership and service , qualified activity, and engagement with diverse communities.
