About the Role
TheFamily Wellbeing Service Support Workerplays a vital role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families engaged with the Family Wellbeing Service, including families involved with the Department of Child Safety.
This position providespractical, cultural, emotional, and administrative supportto families and program practitioners. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will support service delivery, case management activities, family meetings, and supervised family time in a way that ischild-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting families, strengthening connections, and contributing to positive outcomes for children.
Support children, young people, and families through culturally safe, strengths-based practice
Assist families to access services, attend appointments, and achieve their goals
Support family time, case management activities, and service delivery
Maintain quality client records and reporting
Build strong relationships across community, government, and service networks
Promote Kambu Health programs and connect families to the right supports
Work collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
Uphold child safety, cultural safety, and professional practice standards
What You’ll Bring
We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children, young people, and families, with the ability to build trusted relationships and make a positive impact in the community.
Experience working with children, families, or communities in a health, wellbeing, or community services setting
A strong understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills
The ability to work independently while contributing to a cooperative team environment
Strong professional boundaries, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client management systems
Current Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
Valid Blue Card / Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain (mandatory)
Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain (mandatory)
Immunisation: Hepatitis B and COVID-19 vaccination (mandatory)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain (mandatory)
