Join Bendigo Respiratory as a scientist, performing lung function tests and sleep studies to provide essential diagnostic information.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and care of all patients and visitors
- Perform computerised respiratory function tests on medically referred patients
- Printing & collation of results and associated clerical duties
- Attach results to electronic “Genie” medical file
- Quality control of equipment to required medical & scientific standards
- Infection control of apparatus and equipment
- Trouble shooting of testing procedures, instrumentation, computer software and hardware as needed
- Ordering of routine supplies for respiratory laboratory
- Liaison with other staff and patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- Related health qualification ideal, but not essential
- Motivated to learn new skills
- Robust attention to detail
- Able to develop rapport with patients
- Flexible approach to work
Salary and Benefits
- Initial three month trial
- Following successful trial ongoing part time appointment
- Usual days of work: Wednesday & Thursday
- Hours generally 16 hours/week, opportunity for additional hours in other practice roles
- Rate of pay dependent on qualifications & experience $40 - $45/hour
- Annual leave four weeks per calendar year pro rata
- Personal leave five days per calendar year pro rata
