House Coordinator - Therapeutic Residential Care

We are seeking an experienced House Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of a therapeutic residential care home in the Parramatta region.

This is a hands-on role combining direct therapeutic youth work, staff guidance, house coordination and administration. The successful applicant will maintain a strong presence within the home while supporting the operational, documentation and compliance requirements that underpin safe and high-quality care.

About the Role

The House Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the allocated home operates safely, consistently and effectively.

This is a full time, rostered position primarily worked Monday to Friday. It involves a combination of morning and afternoon direct-care shifts, scheduled coordination and administration time, participation in an on-call arrangement and occasional weekend work.

The role will initially be structured around approximately:

- Three days of rostered direct support, involving morning and/or afternoon shifts; and
- Two days of house coordination and administration.

This balance may change according to the needs of the young people, the home and the broader service.

Key responsibilities include:

- Undertaking rostered direct-care shifts and remaining actively involved in the care of children and young people
- Providing day-to-day guidance and support to Therapeutic Youth Workers and Shift Mentors
- Supporting the consistent implementation of Care Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and Therapeutic Plans
- Monitoring the quality and completion of case notes, shift documentation and house records
- Coordinating day-to-day house administration and communication
- Maintaining oversight of household requirements, petty cash, receipts and reconciliations
- Supporting appointments, activities,



transport arrangements and other commitments
- Monitoring the safety, presentation and operational requirements of the home
- Supporting incident response, escalation and post-incident processes
- Identifying and appropriately escalating operational, staffing, safeguarding and compliance concerns
- Supporting the home to remain organised, compliant and audit-ready

Roster and On-call Requirements

This position will ordinarily be rostered across Monday to Friday.

The roster will include a combination of morning and afternoon direct-care shifts, together with scheduled time for house coordination and administration. This is not a standard Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm position.

Occasional weekend work may be required based on the needs of the young people, the home and the broader service.

The House Coordinator will also participate in a rotating on-call arrangement, providing escalation support outside ordinary working hours when rostered.

Pay and Conditions

- Full-time employment opportunity
- Remuneration in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010
- Applicable penalty rates and allowances, including on-call arrangements, in accordance with the SCHADS Award
- Weekly pay

About You

You are an experienced residential care practitioner who is ready to take greater responsibility for the operation of a home while remaining actively involved in frontline care.

You are calm, organised and confident in providing guidance to others. You understand that good residential care depends on consistent practice, strong documentation, clear communication and attention to the everyday details that keep a home operating safely.

You are comfortable balancing competing priorities and know when to make a decision,



when to provide direction and when an issue needs to be escalated.

Essential Criteria and Capabilities

- A minimum of six months’ paid experience working within Out-of-Home Care or therapeutic residential care
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care
- Experience providing guidance, support or leadership to frontline employees
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to balance direct-care responsibilities with administrative and operational requirements
- Sound understanding of child protection responsibilities and the Child Safe Standards

Previous experience as a Team Leader, House Coordinator, Shift Mentor, Senior Therapeutic Youth Worker or in a similar position will be highly regarded.

Experience within DCJ-funded residential services is also desirable.

Essential Qualifications

- A minimum Diploma-level qualification in Community Services, Youth Work or a related field

Mandatory requirements

- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
- National Criminal History Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Australian working rights
- Ability to satisfy relevant DCJ probity requirements
- Willingness and ability to complete all required organisational and DCJ mandatory training
- ARC Therapeutic Model training, or willingness to complete this training
- Relevant professional referees
