We are seeking to establish a pool of Secondary Generalist teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate, motivated and skilled educators who are committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes across all learning areas, while recognising that social and emotional learning and wellbeing are fundamental to academic success. They will embrace our whole-school approaches, use evidence-based teaching strategies and maintain high expectations of students while creating engaging, inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, connected, valued and able to thrive.

We are seeking student-centred, collaborative and relationship-focused teachers who can build positive partnerships with students, colleagues, parents and carers. Applicants should display excellent communication,



interpersonal and organisational skills and contribute positively to a school culture where every student experiences a solid sense of belonging and is supported to develop the social and emotional skills required for lifelong success.

Applicants will have the knowledge and skills to teach across multiple learning areas and confidently use multi-age group planning strategies. They will embrace innovative approaches to learning and be committed to reflective practice, collaboration and the effective use of student achievement and wellbeing data to inform teaching. Guided by our Agreed Approach and 2023–2027 Business Plan, staff work collaboratively through fortnightly Professional Learning Communities, using Action Learning Models to analyse evidence, strengthen teaching practice and continually improve outcomes for every student.

Suitable applicants should display exemplary, evidence-based teaching practices that promote strong levels of student engagement, achievement, wellbeing and growth. They will be skilled in differentiating learning to meet diverse student needs through high-quality lesson design, responsive teaching and innovative program delivery. Applicants will recognise the interconnectedness of academic learning and social and emotional development, intentionally providing opportunities for students to develop self-awareness, self-management, positive relationships, responsible decision-making and resilience alongside strong academic outcomes. They will value the development of the whole child, creating classrooms where every student is challenged, supported and empowered to succeed.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

Eligibility

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
