It's a hands-on, newly created role with genuine scope to build your technical accounting experience. Your responsibilities include:
Manage day-to-day accounts payable, from coding and approving supplier invoices through to processing expense claims and corporate card spend
Carry out the required checks on supplier bank details before releasing payments, helping safeguard the business against payment fraud
Reconcile bank accounts daily, following up on discrepancies and flagging items that need attention
Pull together month-end journals and schedules covering accruals, prepayments,
leave provisions and fixed asset movements
Play an active part in the month-end close, keeping the timetable on track and preparing balance sheet reconciliations for review
Handle intercompany activity, including reconciliations, journal postings and the calculations that support them
Assist with payroll-related accounting, including journals, accruals and the finance side of employee onboarding and off boarding
Keep financial records tidy and audit-ready, and look for opportunities to streamline and automate finance processes
