Industrial Electrical Supervisor – Hands-On Role

AMS Electrical Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Supervisor to join our growing team.

This is not an office-based supervisor position. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the front — working on the tools alongside the team while taking responsibility for coordinating jobs, supervising trades and apprentices, communicating with clients, and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

About the Role

- Hands-on electrical installation, maintenance and breakdown work
- Supervising electricians, apprentices and subcontractors
- Coordinating daily works, labour and job priorities
- Industrial fault finding and breakdown response
- Machinery installation, relocation and commissioning
- Switchboard, MCC and control panel works
- Motors, VSDs, soft starters and motor control systems
- PLC, HMI and industrial automation fault finding
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control drawings
- Planning materials and equipment required for upcoming works
- Liaising directly with clients and site management
- Ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with Australian Standards and site requirements
- Assisting with testing, commissioning and handover of completed projects
- Providing guidance and training to apprentices and less experienced tradespeople

About You

- Holds a current NSW Electrical Licence
- Has strong industrial electrical experience
- Has previous supervisory, leading hand or senior electrician experience




- Is confident fault finding industrial machinery and control systems
- Has a positive understanding of motors, contactors, VSDs, safety circuits and PLC-controlled equipment
- Can read and understand electrical drawings
- Can organise a team and keep jobs moving efficiently
- Is confident communicating directly with clients
- Takes pride in workmanship and presentation
- Is reliable, organised and able to make decisions on site
- Is still willing to get on the tools and work alongside the team
- Experience with PLC/HMI systems, industrial automation, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi or similar platforms will be highly regarded.
