About the Role

Are you an experienced Airworthiness skilled who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on role with the ability to work autonomously whilst having the support of a larger Airworthiness team? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Maintenance Controller to join our team to support the Starflight operation that will provide Aeromedical, SAR and Aviation Law Enforcement services to the people and state of Tasmania.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, some weekend, and on-call work may be required from time to time to meet operational requirements

You’ll play a vital role in keeping our aviation operations running smoothly by managing Starflight’s Airworthiness, for a fleet of B412 initially before transitioning to a fleet of new build H145-D3 helicopters.

Your key duties will include:

- Airworthiness:Fulfill the duties of the Maintenance Controller in accordance with CAR 42ZW and CAR 1988 Schedule 9 and the LifeFlight Maintenance Control Manual.
- Ensureall rotary-wing aircraft under your remit remain airworthy, adhering to regulatory requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
- Liaisewith the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) on all variations, exclusions, special flight permits and extensions
- Maintenance Activities:Oversee all maintenance activities, including scheduled inspections, repairs, and modifications, to ensure they are carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines
- Compliance:Ensure strict adherence to the Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) and other relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing rotary-wing maintenance operations.
- Record Keeping:



Support Tech Records team to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Communications:liaise with maintenance personnel, flight operations, regulatory authorities, and other relevant stakeholders regarding maintenance-related matters, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned.
- Risk Management:Identify potential safety hazards, operational risks, and compliance issues related to maintenance activities, and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures to maintain a safe operating environment.

About You

You’ll bring previous experience in an Airworthiness P42 CAMO and or CAR 30 Maintenance Controller role.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills and attributes:

- Solid knowledge of CASA CAMO P42 Regulations & CAR 30 (Mandatory)
- EMS, SAR and or ALE RW experience (Highly Desirably)
- A customer-focused approach
- Experience in working remote to head office
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
- A can-do attitude, driven to get the job done safely while working within legislative and procedural guidelines
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in building and maintaining effective working relationships

Salary Packaging Options

As an employee, you have the opportunity to benefit from salary packaging, allowing you to allocate up to $15,900 per Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) year towards general living expenses.
