We're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Far North Queensland by providing high quality acute health care services.
Patients are admitted to Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) from the Emergency Department (ED) in collaboration with the Medical Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to ensure that each patient receives high-quality, appropriate care in a safe and holistic environment.The Medical Ambulatory Care Unit (MACU) serves as the MAU discharge lounge, offering a comfortable space for patients to wait while final discharge processes—such as infusions, blood tests, prescriptions, or transport—are completed.
About your role:
Your main tasks may include (but are not limited to):
- Routine patient cares including assistance with activities of daily living.
- Responsibility for planning and delivery of service to an allocated patient load.
- Implementation of risk management and care plans.
- Routine and complex medication management and administration.
- Recognising and responding to deteriorating patients.
