The APS 6 Logistics Assurance Officer contributes to logistics compliance and assurance outcomes within Maintenance Branch, RMC-East. The role supports assurance activities on inventory and asset holdings, logistics policy compliance, remediation activities, stakeholder engagement and reporting. The position works within an integrated workforce and provides specialist logistics advice to support Defence sustainment outcomes.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

- Conduct logistics compliance and assurance activities using mandated procedures, reports and systems.
- Support inventory and asset assurance activities and identify remediation actions.
- Analyse logistics information and prepare reports, briefs and correspondence.
- Engage with stakeholders to resolve logistics assurance and compliance matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of logistics policies, procedures and assurance practices.
- Support audits, reviews and assurance testing activities across the maintenance environment.

About our Team

Maritime Systems Division (MSD) operates within Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), delivering sustainment and maintenance support to Navy and other Defence customers. As part of Maintenance Branch, RMC East works closely with Navy, industry partners and Defence stakeholders to deliver maintenance outcomes that support platform availability and operational readiness.

The Logistics Assurance Officer plays a key role in supporting logistics governance, inventory and asset assurance, compliance monitoring and continuous improvement activities, helping ensure Defence logistics policies,



procedures and systems are effectively applied across the maintenance environment. MSD offers a collaborative and inclusive workplace that values professional development, innovation and delivery of high-quality sustainment outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience in logistics, inventory management, supply chain, compliance or assurance functions. They will demonstrate sound judgement, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with Defence and industry stakeholders in a complex maritime sustainment environment.

Security Clearance

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Baseline Vetting” level.
