Job Description
The Manager, Regulatory Governance plays a critical role in ensuring TAL meets its regulatory obligations by overseeing the coordination and timely delivery of regulatory reporting across the business. This role partners closely with regulators, Group Life relationship managers, and internal stakeholders to respond effectively to evolving regulatory requirements and reporting changes. Working collaboratively with Legal, Risk, Finance, data, and business teams, the Manager supports regulatory investigations led by ASIC and APRA, while also assessing and implementing legislative and regulatory changes. Through strong stakeholder engagement and governance expertise,
the role helps strengthen TAL's regulatory compliance framework and supports the organisation in navigating a complex and changing regulatory environment.
- Cooridnate TAL’s responses to regulatory requests (reporting and consultations) and ensuring that responses are produced in the appropriate timeframe and in accordance with established governance processes.
- Workwith Legal, Risk and TAL business units to develop and continually refine procedures in respect of regulatory responses.
- Liaisewith ASIC, APRA, LCCC and the FSC on data requests including agreeing scope and definitions.
- Workwith the Risk Team on APRA and LCCC investigations into reporting and assisting with communications.
- Workwith the Legal Team on ASIC investigations into reporting and assisting with communications.
- Liaisewith Group Life & Retirement Relationship Managers and Partner Funds as required to ensure contracts and tenders are aligned to TAL capabilities and deliverables.
- Support the Head of Data, Records and Regulatory Governance in all reporting submissions including coordinating all business feedback and appropriate sign-offs.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in business, legal, risk management or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in financial services including regulatory experience
- Understanding of the regulatory landscape, financial services laws and regulator roles and responsibilities
- Experience in communicating directly with regulators (desirable)
- Life industry experience (desirable)
- Superannuation, Financial Advice, Claims or Dispute Resolution experience (desirable)
