Trade Assistant / Maintenance Assistant - The Wesley Hospital

Employment Term: Permanent Full Time. Location: Auchenflower, just 5 mins from Toowong Shopping Village and 10 mins from Brisbane City. Remuneration: $32.33 - $33.31 p/h + 12% Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay). Applications Close: 24 th September 2026. Your part in The Wesley Hospital

Trades Assistants and Grounds Maintenance Assistants work as members of the Maintenance and Engineering team to respond to requests for preventative, scheduled and reactive requests for work. Work may be undertaken on UCH property including buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment.



These roles will contribute to work undertaken by the broader team under the supervision of a trade qualified supervisor or supervisor.

- repairing doors, locks, door frames and handles, or replacing light bulbs and window glass.
- basic plumbing tasks, which includes unclogging drains as well as fixing leaking faucets and toilets
- perform cleaning duties, which includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Safely operate a range of hand tools relevant to the role and in good working order.
- Accurately recording and documenting work undertaken including maintenance checks or inspections relevant to the role.
- Complete fault finding reports and hazard notifications as identified.
- Undertake inventory of maintenance resources and supplies and notifying the Supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
- Ensure all outdoor areas are maintained to a high standard by undertaking activities such as mowing, trimming and pruning of shrubs and trees, and edging the lawn.

Desirable to have experience in general maintenance or grounds maintenance experience.

Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment.
