We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join the team at Specsavers Jesmond. This is a casual position based in Jesmond NSW 2299, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in the dynamic retail and optical industry. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting the sales team in promoting our wide range of optical and eyewear products. This position is integral to creating a welcoming shopping experience and driving sales across our store.

Key responsibilities

- Provide friendly and professional customer service to all visitors, assisting with product selection and enquiries
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
- Maintain knowledge of current product ranges, promotions and services offered by Specsavers
- Support the sales team in achieving sales targets and promoting key product lines
- Ensure the store is clean, tidy and well-organised with products appropriately displayed
- Handle cash and payment methods securely and in accordance with company procedures
- Assist with stock management, including receiving, shelving and inventory checks
- Build positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty
- Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements

What we're looking for

- Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a sales environment




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to casual work arrangements
- Proficiency with basic IT systems and point-of-sale technology
- A neat appearance and professional demeanour at all times
- Enthusiasm for learning about optical products and eyewear
- Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail when handling transactions
- Willingness to contribute positively to store targets and company objectives
