We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join a well-established Rural Queensland Health mental health service. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident clinician who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can step into a senior role with minimal supervision.
Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide high‑quality, recovery‑focused care while managing a complex mental health caseload. This role is ideal for clinicians with strong Queensland Health experience who can hit the ground running and provide clinical leadership when required.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and ongoing case management
- Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic interventions across a complex caseload
- Complete risk assessments, safety planning and crisis intervention
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person‑centred care
- Provide clinical support and guidance to junior clinicians where appropriate
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and utilise Queensland Health systems
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and best practice mental health care
Skills & experience
- Minimum 3+ years’ recent Queensland Health mental health experience (essential)
- Qualification as a Social Worker (eligible for AASW membership), Psychologist (AHPRA registered)
- Demonstrated experience managing complex mental health presentations within public mental health services
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, crisis intervention and recovery‑oriented practice
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and clinical decision‑making skills
- Experience using Queensland Health clinical systems is highly desirable
- Ability to commence with minimal orientation and quickly integrate into an established team
