Are you an Accountant who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers?
We are working with an established and purpose-driven organisation seeking an Accountant who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a genuine interest in data, customer behaviour and commercial analysis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant who enjoys month-end and financial reporting but wants a role that offers something different - using data and Power BI to identify trends, understand customer segments and provide meaningful insights to the business.
The Role
Working as part of the finance team, you will have a broad remit covering both traditional accounting and data-driven analysis.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Month-end accounting and reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation and analysis of financial reports
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Variance analysis and investigation
- Assisting with year-end and audit requirements
- Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reporting
- Analysing customer data to identify trends, behaviours and opportunities
- Reviewing customer segmentation and loyalty
- Providing analysis around customer activity, retention and engagement
- Combining financial and operational data to provide meaningful commercial insights
- Working with stakeholders across the organisation to improve the quality and use of management information
- Identifying opportunities to improve and automate existing reporting
About You
We are particularly interested in speaking with Accountants who are naturally curious and enjoy working with data.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong month-end and financial reporting fundamentals
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Power BI, or a strong desire to further develop your Power BI capability
- An interest in data analytics, customer behaviour and commercial insights
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to interpret large amounts of information and communicate the key message clearly
- A proactive mindset and an interest in improving and automating reporting
- CA/CPA qualification or studies would be highly regarded
