Rather than sitting in the detail producing drawings, you'll provide the technical and commercial direction behind major engineering programmes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical engineering standards.
- Provide technical direction across greenfield, brownfield, refurbishment and existing-site projects.
- Develop annual capital programmes and supporting business cases.
- Manage significant CAPEX and OPEX budgets from planning through to completion.
- Provide engineering oversight across HVAC, electrical infrastructure,
BMS and associated building services.
- Review and challenge designs produced by consultants and external engineering partners.
- Identify and implement innovative, energy-efficient and lower-emission engineering solutions.
- Provide technical guidance across a geographically diverse portfolio with varying asset ages and requirements.
- Manage external consultants, contractors and engineering delivery partners.
- Provide leadership and direction across a broader engineering network through influence rather than direct authority.
The Ideal Candidate for This Position Will Have Experience in the Following
- Mechanical Engineering or Building Services background, supported by a relevant tertiary engineering qualification.
- Strong HVAC and mechanical building services expertise.
- Experience within retail, large-format retail or another complex multi-site asset environment.
- Delivery of multimillion-dollar capital projects and programmes.
- Developing business cases, establishing budgets and maintaining financial control throughout project delivery.
- Managing engineering consultants, contractors and outsourced technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence across complex organisations.
- Exposure to sustainability, energy efficiency and emerging building technologies.
- A driven, proactive leadership style with the confidence to challenge existing thinking and drive change.
