Mechanical Fitter - Water Treatment Plant

Workfast is currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitters to join our team working on maintenance projects for Water Treatment Plants in the Sydney Eastern Suburbs and Wollongong. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled tradespeople with water infrastructure experience to secure ongoing work on Sydney Water sites.

What's On Offer:

$59.89 to $66.88/hr (Depending on certificates held) + Penalties + Allowances

Consistent 40 +-hour weekswith occasional overtime

Overtime penalties and above industry-standard allowances

, ongoing role with the goal & opportunity for FT employment

Work on major infrastructure projects across Sydney Water sites

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in water treatment or similar industrial & construction environments.
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in relevant discipline
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) - mandatory
- Working at Heights MUST
- Confined Spaces MUST
- Valid Australian work rights (citizen, permanent resident, or unrestricted visa)
- Robust understanding and commitment to site safety protocols
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team




- Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform mechanical maintenance on water treatment equipment and plant machinery
- Maintain and repair pipes, valves, conveyors, and pumps
- Assist with general labouring tasks around the plant as needed
- Support daily operations to ensure smooth functionality of the treatment plant
- Participate in site toolbox talks and maintain strong safety practices
- *Project allowance for most areas of the job. Some zones excluded.
