About this role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sport andRecreation branch. As one of the fastest growing Councils in Australia, youwill be responsible for the effective coordination and operational managementof Council’s sport and recreation facilities, ensuring equitable access,optimal utilisation, and high-quality service delivery.

Reporting to the Team Leader Sport and Leisure Operations,you will coordinate the effective allocation and utilisation of sportsgrounds,courts and associated infrastructure, while maintaining a strong customer andstakeholder focus. This includes balancing competing demands throughtransparent, evidence-based decision-making to achieve fair and sustainableoutcomes.

Acting as a central point of coordination between Council,sporting clubs/associations, schools and service providers, you will build andmaintain strong, collaborative relationships. You will respond proactively tooperational challenges, stakeholder needs and emerging trends, ensuring servicedelivery aligns with Council’s strategic priorities and community expectations.

The position plays an important role in supporting strategicinitiatives and continuous improvement in line with Council’s values andcommunity expectations, by contributing to system improvements, policydevelopment and operational enhancements.

- Tertiary qualificationsin Sports, Recreation, Leisure, or a related field, or relevantexperience
- Demonstrated experiencein managing sports operations and allocations using digital systems
- Demonstratedinterpersonal skills with a proven ability to build, establish andmaintain positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders such as community groups and Council staff
- Experience workingcollaboratively across various teams or departments to address issues,implement solutions, and deliver seamless services.
- Experience in developingand/or implementing policies, procedures, strategies, and/or systems toimprove sport and recreation services
- Ability to identifyissues, analyse data, and implement solutions to improve sport and leisureoperations and service delivery
- Ability to self-managetime, plan, and prioritise work and meet deadlines and targets in adynamic environment
- Commitment tohigh-quality customer service and a sound understanding of the sport andrecreation industry, including current trends and funding opportunities
- Experience in projectsor initiatives, particularly within the sport and leisure sector

- Ability to provideadvice on the planning and enhancement of sports clubs, facilities, andgrounds
