We are a member-based not-for-profit motorsport organisation dedicated to delivering exceptional events, member experiences, and supporting the growth of motorsport within our community. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day financial management of the organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this is a hands‑on role that will provide broad exposure across financial accounting, compliance, budgeting, reporting, and operational support. The successful candidate will be an integral member of our small team and contribute to the ongoing success of the club.

About the Role

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the club while assisting the CFO with strategic financial management, reporting, compliance, and budgeting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.

Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Involvement in payroll processing and related obligations (where applicable).

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.

Assist the CFO with month-end and year-end close processes.

Analyse financial performance and identify trends and variances.

Support the preparation of board reports and financial presentations.

Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with GST, BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other statutory requirements.





Assist with annual audits and external reporting obligations.

Support compliance with applicable not-for-profit and association regulations.

Maintain and improve internal controls and financial procedures.

Operational Support

Support the administration of club operations and events from a financial perspective.

Work collaboratively with operational staff and management.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.

Provide financial guidance to non-financial stakeholders across the organisation.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.

Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and ATO compliance requirements.

Experience preparing management reports and financial analysis.

Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

Experience within a not-for-profit, membership-based, sporting, or community organisation.

Experience with event-based or project accounting.
