The Gates Hotel is seeking an experienced and proactive Duty Manager to join our team in Adamstown, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our hotel. As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing staff, and maintaining the highest standards of service and facility management. This position is essential to our operational success and directly contributes to the overall reputation and profitability of The Gates Hotel.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily hotel operations.
- Supervise and coordinate staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage across all departments
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies and industry standards
- Conduct regular facility inspections and arrange maintenance as required
- Train and mentor hotel staff to maintain consistent service excellence
- Handle emergency situations and security concerns appropriately
- Liaise with senior management regarding operational issues and performance metrics
- Manage inventory, ordering and stock control across departments

What we're looking for

- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency in hotel management systems and point-of-sale software
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and hospitality compliance requirements




- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (such as RSA, First Aid or Hotel Management qualifications) are preferred
- A professional demeanour and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
