The Australian Digital Health Agency leads the national effort to digitally enable Australia’s health system. We support the delivery of person-centred, connected healthcare through the development and adoption of digital health services and systems. Our work includes managing My Health Record, Electronic prescriptions, and the 1800MEDICARE app, ensuring a healthier future for all Australians through connected healthcare.

About the role

The APS6 Research and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for leading and delivering research, evaluation and analytical activities that support the Agency's strategic priorities and digital health initiatives. The role applies qualitative and quantitative research methods, evaluation frameworks and evidence-based approaches to assess the effectiveness, outcomes and impact of programs, products and services. Working under limited direction, you will provide specialist advice and contribute to the development of evidence that informs policy, program delivery, strategic planning and continuous improvement across the Agency.

This full-time, ongoing opportunity works closely with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver research and evaluation projects, develop performance measures and monitoring approaches, and communicate evidence-based findings and recommendations.



The Research and Evaluation Specialist translates complex information into clear, practical insights for decision-makers, while supporting organisational learning and promoting evidence-informed decision-making to improve the Agency's programs, services and digital health outcomes.

Skills and experience

- Experience applying qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research and evaluation approaches to assess program, policy or service outcomes.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and develop evidence-based findings and recommendations.
- Experience developing and implementing evaluation frameworks, performance measures and monitoring approaches.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships, influence outcomes and communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to translate research, evaluation and analytical findings into practical insights and recommendations that support organisational outcomes.
- Qualifications and/or experience in evaluation, research, public health, behavioural science, statistics, digital health, public policy, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Eligibility





- Australian citizenship is a mandatory eligibility requirement. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain both a national police clearance and a Baseline security clearance, with the capacity to attain a higher-level clearance if required by the Agency.

Salary: This role offers between $101,379- $114,373 plus 15.4% superannuation depending on skills and experience.
