Your Family Dentist Liverpool – Liverpool NSW

Not for "applicants." For one specific Men/woman who is, right now, sitting at a reception desk somewhere in Sydney, doing three people's jobs, and going home wondering why nobody has noticed.

Let's see if it's you.

We wrote this ad for one person.

Not for "applicants." For one specific Men/woman who is, right now, sitting at a reception desk somewhere in Sydney, doing three people's jobs, and going home wondering why nobody has noticed.

Let's see if it's you.

We think we know how your day goes.

You get in before you have to. Not because anyone asked — because you know that if you don't, the first patient walks in to a practice that isn't ready.

You check the autoclave log. You clock the B&D; test before anyone else has taken their jacket off. You count the handpieces. You already know two surgeries are low on something, and you've already sorted it by the time the nurses arrive.

Then the day starts, and it becomes about the diary. There's a hole at 11:40 and it's been bothering you since yesterday. You've got someone in mind for it. By 10am it's filled.

A clinician runs twenty minutes late, and you're on the phone to the 2:15 before she's left home — because you know exactly how it feels to sit in a waiting room being told nothing.

Then there's the patient who has been coming here for eleven years. Who walks past three closer practices to get to yours. Who won't book unless you're the one on the phone.

You do all of this. And at some point in the last year or two, you've had the thought: I'm running this place. I'm just not being paid like it, or trusted like it, or asked like it.

That thought is why you're reading job ads at 9pm.

Here's the part most practices won't say out loud.

You started chairside. Cert III, maybe Cert IV, maybe you trained as a lab technician. You know what a tray set-up should look like. You know what a dentist needs before he asks for it. You know infection control properly — not "ready for an audit" properly, but actually properly, because you've been the one signing it off.

And then you moved to the front desk. And you found out you were unusually positive at it.

That combination — real chairside experience plus real front-of-house ability — is genuinely rare. Most practices don't understand what they've got when they have it. They just quietly hand you more work.

We do understand it. It's the entire reason this role exists.

What you're actually looking for

You're not looking for a bigger desk. You're looking for four things, and we think you'd struggle to find all four in the same place:

Someone to hand you the keys. Not "manage the front desk." Run the practice. The diary, the team, the stock,

the compliance, the patient journey — yours, properly, with the owners behind you instead of over your shoulder.

To be measured on results, not on looking busy. You'd rather be given a target and left alone. You're happy to sit down once a week and show what you've achieved, because you'll have achieved something. What you can't stand is being watched doing small things.

To stop being the switchboard. Here's a promise: you pick up the phone when you choose to, or when a patient has specifically asked for you. Your team handles the rest. You were not trained for eight years to spend your day saying "Your Family Dentist, how can I help?"

To finally be paid what the job is worth. $75,000 to $90,000, plus super, plus incentives on top.

The things that will make you want this

A real project with your name on it. We want ADA accreditation. We want you to run it — the whole thing, start to finish, without the principal in the room. If you've ever wanted proof of what you can do, that's it, and it's yours from week one.

An in-house lab. CBCT, intraoral scanners, milling machines, 3D printers, furnaces, our own dental laboratory. Crowns done while the patient is still in the chair. You'll stop apologising to patients about three-week turnarounds, because we don't have them.

Building the KPIs, not being handed them. Nurses, reception, call centre, therapists, lab techs — you build what "good" looks like for each of them. And you keep the file on each person, so when increment time comes, the conversation is about evidence instead of who spoke loudest.

Owners you can walk up to. Dr Nick and Dr Shaveta are in the building. There is no head office in another state, no regional manager, no ticket system. You have a problem, you say it, it gets dealt with.

A monthly incentive meeting that you run. Not one you sit through.

What lands on your desk

- The morning huddle — clinicians, therapists, nurses, lab, all in one room, on the same page about today

- The diary across multiple clinicians: utilisation, gaps, cancellations, emergencies

- Infection control end to end — autoclave testing, records, sign-off, audit-readiness

- ADA accreditation, inside 12 weeks

- Stock: what each surgery burns through, how that compares to where it should be, and where the waste is

- The lab in/out courier register,

reconciled with accounts daily

- Payment plans — Humm, Payright, health funds, HICAPS, Medicare/CDBS — and the follow-up calls, which you'll take yourself, because we want you hearing the real objections first-hand

- The full patient journey, first enquiry to final appointment, mapped and reported

- KPIs, rosters, training and hiring for the front-of-house team

- Honest feedback to the marketing team on lead quality — you see who actually walks in

- Dentist commission calculations

- A clean desk at close, and clinical notes checked as compliant before the day ends

By your third month

You'll have taken over the daily rhythm so completely that nobody thinks to check it. You'll have a KPI file open on every person in the building. You'll have handed the principal a patient-journey report and a stock-waste report he didn't have before you arrived.

And there'll be an accreditation certificate on the wall with your fingerprints all over it.

About us — briefly, because this ad isn't about us

Your Family Dentist is family-owned, with practices in Liverpool and Blacktown and a third in Mumbai. 35+ people across NSW. We've grown by looking after generations of the same families rather than by chasing volume, and we've put our money into technology and an in-house lab instead of into signage.

We're still growing. We promote from the inside. This role is the one that grows with us.

What you'll need

- Cert III or Cert IV in Dental Assisting, or a dental laboratory technician qualification

- Both chairside and reception experience — this is the non-negotiable one

- 5+ years in dental practice, including time as a senior or team lead

- Infection control and sterilisation protocols, including autoclave testing and documentation

- Dentally and/or Exact Dental (D4W, Praktika or similar considered — but you'll need to move fast)

- Health fund claiming, HICAPS, Medicare/CDBS

- Payment plans — Humm, Payright or equivalent

- Excel and Word you're genuinely comfortable in, and the instinct to fix the printer rather than email about it

- Full working rights in Australia; current NSW Working with Children Check

Been through an accreditation before, or built KPIs from scratch? Say so in the first line of your application.

Please don't apply if…

- You want a quiet desk job. This isn't one.

- You'd rather not be measured. You will be, weekly.

- You've never worked chairside. We've been clear about why that matters.

- You're looking for something to do for a year. We're looking for the person who runs Liverpool for the next decade — and quite possibly more than Liverpool after that.
