Language Disorder Australia is seeking an exemplary Design and Technology Teacher to join our award-winning school, Mancel College.

Through hands-on learning experiences in our dedicated Design and Technology facilities, you'll nurture creativity, innovation, critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

As our Design and Technology Teacher, you will bring:

Teaching qualifications, QCT registration, Child Safety Checks, experience, and knowledge to be a phenomenal and influential teacher.

A passion for Design and Technology and the ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation in students.

Experience embedding ICT and the meaningful use of technology within the classroom and broader school environment.

Experience teaching Design and Technology, Industrial Technology Skills, Engineering, Building and Construction, or related disciplines.

Proven experience building productive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

An understanding of multidisciplinary practice and the benefits of working alongside teachers and allied health professionals to support student outcomes (desirable).

Experience in, or a willingness to learn, the diverse areas of a Design and Technology Department including electronics, manufacturing, CAD, CAM, and emerging technologies.

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) (desirable)



or a willingness to obtain one.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As our Design and Technology Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging and relevant Design and Technology learning experiences that maximise student learning outcomes.

Inspire students to think creatively, solve problems, and apply their knowledge in practical and meaningful ways.

Use evidence-based teaching practices to support student engagement and achievement.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement innovative and adaptive approaches to learning.

Work closely with parents and caregivers to proactively communicate student progress and success.

Contribute to the ongoing development of Design and Technology programs that meet the unique needs of our students.

WHAT YOU WON'T DO

Deliver generic lessons. You'll create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that engage students and support their individual learning needs.

Work in isolation. You'll collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for students.

Assume traditional approaches work for every learner. You'll think creatively and adapt your practice to support student success.

Focus only on technical skills. You'll help students build confidence, resilience, problem-solving skills, and independence.

Underestimate our students. You'll recognise their strengths, nurture their potential, and empower them to achieve more than they imagined possible.
