Crystal Fire Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Panel Technician (Installing, Fault Finding & Testing) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding and testing of fire detection and alarm systems. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that fire safety systems are operating correctly and reliably, protecting lives and property across our diverse client base. This is a hands-on technical position that requires precision, attention to detail and a commitment to safety excellence.

Key responsibilities

Install fire detection panels, sensors, and associated equipment in accordance with Australian Standards and client specifications

Perform routine maintenance and servicing of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance

Conduct fault-finding and diagnostic testing on fire panel systems to identify and resolve technical issues

Carry out comprehensive system testing and commissioning of newly installed fire detection systems

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for clients experiencing system malfunctions

Document all work completed, including test results, maintenance records and system configurations

Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and ensure systems meet their needs

Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company protocols on every job

Stay current with industry standards, regulations and emerging fire safety technologies

What we're looking for

A recognised qualification in fire detection and alarm systems installation or equivalent technical certification

Proven experience installing, testing and maintaining fire alarm panels and associated equipment

Proficiency in fault-finding and diagnostic testing of fire safety systems

Strong understanding of Australian Standards relevant to fire detection and alarm systems (AS 1670, AS 3786)





Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and system schematics

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in varied work environments

Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach

A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites

Physical fitness and capability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required

Knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements in NSW
