Established in 1879, St Aloysius' College is a Catholic, Jesuit day school for boys from Year 3 to Year 12. Situated in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it has an enrolment of over 1300 students.

About the Role

HSIE Teacher – Rozelle Campus

In 2023, St Aloysius’ College established a dedicated Year 9 Campus in Rozelle, providing a tailored environment for young men during the important years of middle adolescence.

Commencing in January 2027, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative Teacher who is passionate about delivering an inclusive, engaging and holistic educational experience for Year 9 students.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject expertise in History and/or Geography, with the capacity to teach Commerce desirable but not essential. The ability to teach across Humanities, particularly History and Geography, will be highly regarded.

The role provides an opportunity to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and real-world learning, while fostering students’ understanding of the economic, environmental and social issues shaping our world. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence and bring a collaborative approach to the development and delivery of innovative teaching programs.

Reporting to the Head of Campus – Rozelle, this role would suit either an early-career teacher seeking to develop their professional practice or an experienced educator looking to contribute to the mission of the College and the growth of our interdisciplinary teaching program at Rozelle.

Your Application

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

- Commitment to the Catholic Education of boys in the Jesuit Tradition;





- Possess appropriate secondary school teaching qualifications and eligibility to teach under the requirements of NESA, NSW legislation and College policy;

- Demonstrated experience in teaching History and/or Geography;

- The capacity to teach Commerce is an advantage though not essential;

- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with teachers in the development, implementation and evaluation of NESA-based programs;

- Proven ability to facilitate a warm, engaging and high-quality learning environment that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of all students;

- High level of interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with staff, students, parents and the broader College community;

- Excellent ICT skills and the ability to integrate technology into learning programs to improve educational outcomes;

- Commitment to academic excellence;

- Possess a valid Working with Children Check;

- Strong commitment to child safeguarding principles.
