About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Male Support Worker to provide high-quality support to a participant in Orange, NSW.
The participant lives with schizophrenia and requires a support worker who is confident working with individuals with psychosocial disabilities and can provide calm, respectful, and consistent support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person-centred support tailored to the participants needs and goals.
Support the participant with daily activities and community participation.
Build a positive and qualified working relationship with the participant.
Recognise early signs of escalation and respond appropriately.
Follow behavioural support and risk management strategies.
Maintain a secure and supportive environment.
Complete required documentation and report any concerns appropriately.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities or complex support needs.
Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions.
The ability to recognise and appropriately respond to escalation.
A positive understanding of risk management and behavioural support practices.
Confidence working with participants who have a known history of substance use.
Excellent communication, patience, and emotional awareness.
A calm, reliable, and non-judgmental approach.
Relevant qualifications and NDIS-related clearances.
