CBD Dumpling House is a busy and well-established Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Canberra City. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our skilled kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present a wide range of Chinese dishes to a consistently high standard.
Prepare meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other ingredients for service.
Cook dishes using traditional Chinese cooking techniques, including stir-frying, steaming, braising and roasting.
Assist with the preparation and production of dumplings, noodles, rice dishes and other menu items.
Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation throughout service.
Assist with menu planning and development of recent dishes and seasonal offerings.
Ensure food is prepared in accordance with recipes, quality standards and customer requirements.
Monitor stock levels, food supplies and kitchen inventory and assist with ordering as required.
Maintain appropriate food storage, stock rotation and waste-control procedures.




Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure effective preparation and service during busy periods.
Assist with training and supervision of junior kitchen staff where required.

Skills and Experience
Certificate IV in cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management
At least 1-year experience working as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen.
Solid knowledge of cooking techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume restaurant workplace.
Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
Flexibility to work across lunch and dinner services, including weekends and public holidays.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
