Midcoast Truck Bodies, part of the family owned Midcoast Trucks Group, is based in Macksville on the North Coast of NSW halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, only 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant with strong electrical experience to support our busy bodyshop team. Working alongside qualified bodymakers and Auto Electricians, you will play a key role in assisting with the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical systems on commercial vehicles and equipment.

This is an excellent prospect for someone with hands-on electrical skills who enjoys a varied role and is looking to further develop their career within the heavy vehicle industry.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with electrical fault finding and repairs.
Install and connect electrical components, accessories and wiring systems.
Support the fitment of lighting, safety equipment, telematics, cameras and electrical accessories.
Conduct basic electrical testing and diagnostics.
Hydraulics
Prepare vehicles and equipment for repair and maintenance activities.
Maintain cleanliness and secure work practices.
Assist with general workshop duties as required.




Follow all WHS policies and procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience in a Trades Assistant, Electrical Assistant or similar role.
Strong understanding of automotive, commercial vehicle or industrial electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret basic wiring diagrams and schematics.
Experience using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Current Driver's Licence (essential).
Forklift Licence (desirable but not essential).
Heavy Vehicle industry experience (advantageous).
