The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of a broad range of hire equipment powered by small petrol and diesel engines. The position is hands-on and requires someone who can work efficiently, diagnose faults accurately and ensure equipment is maintained to a protected and reliable standard before returning to hire.

Key responsibilities
Service, maintain and repair small petrol and diesel engines
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and fuel-system faults
Repair and maintain equipment including generators, pumps, compactors, concrete equipment, demolition equipment, lawn and garden equipment and other general hire machinery
Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance
Inspect returned equipment and identify required repairs
Test equipment following repairs to ensure it is protected and operating correctly
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Identify parts and components required for repairs




Assist with maintaining workshop cleanliness and organisation
Follow workplace health and safety procedures

About you
Relevant mechanical trade qualification or equivalent recognised qualification in small engines, outdoor power equipment, automotive, plant or a closely related mechanical field
Previous experience servicing and repairing small petrol and diesel engines
Robust fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working with small plant, construction equipment, hire equipment or similar machinery is highly regarded
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good understanding of safe workshop practices
Good communication and organisational skills
Current Australian driver's licence or the ability to obtain one

Pay: $79,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
