About the role

This is the next step for an electrician who's proven themselves on the tools and wants to start leading a crew without leaving the trade behind. It's still primarily a hands-on role — you'll be on the tools delivering work the vast majority of your day — with crew coordination layered on top: allocating daily tasks, running toolbox talks, mentoring apprentices, and keeping safety and quality on track for the people working alongside you. It's not a desk job and it's not a step away from your trade, just a step up.

Key responsibilities
Delivering electrical installation work on site — rough-in, fit-off, terminations, testing and commissioning — to AS/NZS 3000, project drawings and quality standards
Allocating daily tasks to your crew of electricians, apprentices and trades assistants in line with the programme
Running daily pre-start toolbox talks and keeping your crew briefed on scope, hazards and site-specific requirements
Mentoring apprentices and junior tradespeople on the job, without it coming at the cost of your own output
Running first-line quality checks before calling for inspections or sign-off, and managing rework promptly




Upholding safety management system and site safety requirements — with a genuine safety mindset, not just box-ticking
Keeping accurate as-built markups, test records and daily paperwork as the work progresses

About you
A current WA "A" Grade (unrestricted) electrical licence
A current White Card (construction induction)
3–5 years post-trade experience — prior leading hand or supervisory experience is a bonus, but if you haven't led a crew before and you're ready to, we still want to hear from you
Relevant tickets for the work — Working at Heights, EWP, or similar as required (First Aid is a bonus)
The ability to lead and motivate a small crew while staying hands-on and productive yourself
A genuine safety mindset and a team-first attitude — you'll set the tone for the people working alongside you
