About Us

n

Herberton State School P-10 has been caring for students for over 130 years.

n

The school was opened in 1881 and it was one of the original six state schools to have a secondary department added in 1912. It is the only remaining 'high-top' of the initial six.

n

Our school is situated in a small country town on the Atherton Tablelands.

n

With approximately 200 students the teachers and staff know each student and their family, providing a solid foundation for a safe, respectful and supportive learning setting at both our Primary and Secondary campuses.

Your Opportunity

Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.

Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
n
Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
n
Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
n
Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
