We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join a prestigious federal government client on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced data professionals to lead innovative data solutions and make a significant impact in a agile setting.
Contract Duration: 12 months, with a potential extension of an additional 12 months
Work Week: 37.5 hours
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and optimization of data warehouse platforms
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data teams
Drive data integration projects and ensure system performance
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop scalable data solutions
MS SQL / Teradata /Snowflake / Redshift / Databricks - Demonstrated competency in developing, auditing and reviewing code in 2 out of the 5 Data Warehouses listed.
High level of competency in Programming, including knowledge of supplementary programming languages such as Python, SAS, R or Java.
Strong expertise with SQL, including experience with reverse-engineering end user SQL code.
Ability to read and interpret data models and specifications.
Ability to understand DevOps process and can use DevOps tools in accordance with the process.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of version controls and its appropriate uses.
Minimum of 4 years in a similar role.
Exposure to AWS Cloud, AWS S3, AWS Glue or similar tools within the cloud workplace.
Competency with required systems, software and programs, including SAS and Excel.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
Certifications in cloud platforms, data management, or related areas are advantageous
