A local council in the south-east are seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to join their team on a short-term contract, with the chance to work across community programs, engagement and place-based initiatives.

About The Role
Engaging with community members, including marginalised and hard-to-reach groups
Developing, delivering and evaluating community programs, projects, activities and events
Building strong relationships with community groups, service providers, government agencies and internal stakeholders
Supporting volunteer programs and community leadership development
Identifying local community needs and priorities
Preparing reports, plans and correspondence
Supporting community centre communications,



social media and promotional activities
Providing administrative and customer service support when required

About You

To be successful, you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Community Development, Community Services, Health Promotion or a related field
Demonstrated experience in community development, engagement, program delivery or place-based community work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders
Robust organisational and time management skills
Good Microsoft Office and social media skills
The ability to work collaboratively while also being self-motivated
