Our client is known for authentic Asian cuisine, specialising in Chinese BBQ skewers, pan-fried dishes, and traditional dough-based foods.

We are seeking an experienced full-time Cook with strong skills in authentic Chinese cooking, especially charcoal BBQ and traditional regional dishes.

About the Role

This role is best suited to a cook who is confident working with charcoal grills and understands the balance of spices, heat control, and timing required for authentic BBQ skewers. Experience in Chinese dough-based foods is also highly valued, as you will contribute to a diverse and traditional menu.

You will be responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality dishes during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook traditional Chinese BBQ skewers using traditional methods (e.g. charcoal grilling, chilli/5-spiece seasoning, basting techniques)
Accurately control grill temperatures and cooking times to ensure consistency and quality
Northern – China dough-based items such as pay-fried dumpling/buns and hand-made noodles, where required
Portion meats and dishes,



and prepare garnishes in line with service standards
Maintain strict food hygiene and protected temperature-controlled storage
Assist with menu development, including refining BBQ and traditional items and estimating costs
Support efficient kitchen operations during peak service

About You
3+ years’ experience in Chinese or similar ethno-specific cuisine
Robust BBQ skewer or charcoal grilling experience required
Experience with Northern-Chinese dough work is highly regarded
Skilled in seasoning, marinades, and traditional cooking techniques
Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen
Reliable, hardworking, and team-focused

What We Offer
Competitive salary: $68,000 – $80,000 per year
