Trades Assistant

McIntosh & Son Katanning is seeking a diligent Trades Assistant, who is self-sufficient, organised and able to prioritise competing demands.

About the role:

This is a full time, permanent position where you will be assisting in a variety of welding, cutting, painting and workshop maintenance duties to support our Fabrication and Service teams.

What you’ll be doing:
Providing Trades Assistant support to both our fabrication and service teams.
Assisting with the preparation, fabrication, and finishing of manufactured products.
Performing painting and finishing tasks on completed products as required.
Loading and unloading equipment, materials, and components in a safe and effective manner.
Maintaining a high standard of workplace safety, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Undertaking general workshop, yard cleaning, and maintenance duties to ensure a safe and organised work environment.

What you’ll bring to the role:
Previous experience in a welding, fabrication,



or Trades Assistant role (desirable).
A current and valid driver's licence (essential).
A current forklift licence (essential), or the ability and willingness to obtain one immediately upon commencement.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and the wellbeing of yourself and others.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision.
High standards of workmanship, including accuracy in measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding.
A positive attitude, robust work ethic, and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented team environment.
