We are looking for a motivated Apprentice Employment Field Officer to join our team.
In this full-time role, you'll support and mentor apprentices throughout their training journey while building and maintaining strong relationships with host employers across the industry.
You'll play a key role in creating successful apprenticeship outcomes by ensuring safe, meaningful, and compliant workplace placements.
Key Responsibilities
Support apprentices to successfully complete their apprenticeship
Work with and support assigned apprentices to successfully complete their apprenticeship
Implement initiatives and activities that promote the engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction of apprentices throughout their training period
Provide mentoring, pastoral care and support to apprentices, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during their apprenticeship
Identify and recruit new host employers to create employment opportunities and strong partnerships for apprentices
Undertake and support business development activities and promotions to promote the services of apprenticeship employment and to identify new host employment opportunities for apprentices
Leverage existing host employer relationships to identify employment opportunities for apprentices
Manage host employer relationships to ensure strong partnerships and effective collaboration
Ensure that the health and safety of apprentices are not put at risk from work carried out in the workplace
Actively consult with apprentices on safety issues in the workplace
Coordinate, educate and liaise with host employers to ensure a protected place of work for apprentices
Action safety reports and carry out workplace inspections & investigations as required
Meet compliance, record keeping and other administrative requirements
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to apprenticeship programs
Ensure that comprehensive written records of meetings, interviews, progress reports and other records concerning host employers and apprentices are created
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check
Sound knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) sector, particularly in relation to apprenticeships and group training
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong mentoring, nurturing and support skills
An understanding of WHS and HR principles
Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Competence using Microsoft Office and apprentice management systems
Prior experience within an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network or other related vocational education and training (VET) organisation
Territory management and support roles
