Job Description
Selection will be based on various interview and assessment tasks which will required additional time on the day of interview. Applicants will be asked to be available for two hours on the day of interview. Interviews will be held from Monday 10 August **** to Friday 14 August **** via videoconference.
PPBTs are appointed to one of the NSW Paediatric Training Networks (Western, Northern or Eastern), each of which is made up of a number of health facilities. As these are network training positions, these roles involve training at a variety of locations and clinical departments. In order to comply with RACP basic training program requirements, PPBTs are required to work at peripheral accredited sites (which may include private hospitals).
Please refer to the attached document for facilities listed as being within the Network; these facilities may be outside of NSW and there may be additional accredited facilities not listed. PPBT positions are conditional upon the ongoing satisfactory performance, and compliance with requirements relevant to the training program including progression through the training program at the expected rate. This includes completion of work-based assessments and other requirements as directed by the RACP and training network: https:-- Job share is not available for the first year of this three year training contract.
A limited number of job share arrangements may be available during subsequent years within the network of appointment.

About the Candidate
Selection Criteria: MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category. Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience. Eligible for registration with RACP or registered with RACP as a Basic Trainee with less than 12 months RACP paediatric training at commencement of contract.
Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development. This includes demonstrated ability to teach and willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff. Please provide an example.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the appropriate management of the patient. Please provide an example. Demonstrated experience in taking comprehensive patient histories, performing clinical examinations and accurately documenting in patient records.

Ability to demonstrate accurate decision-making, to seek further advice in accordance with level of experience and to show an awareness of limitations. Please provide an example. Proven ability to organise, plan and manage competing tasks.
