Monroe, part of DRiV/Tenneco, is seeking a hands‐on and detail‐oriented Product Development Technician to join our Engineering team in Clovelly Park.
This exciting role combines prototype building, product testing, vehicle evaluation, and technical reporting, making it ideal for a qualified tradesperson or technician who enjoys problem‐solving and working with automotive products.

About the Role
As a Product Development Technician, you'll support the development and validation of suspension products through prototype assembly, testing, vehicle evaluations, and technical analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and assembling prototype suspension components
Conducting performance and endurance testing of shock absorbers and coil springs
Operating specialised testing equipment (training provided)
Performing measurements and inspections using precision tools
Supporting vehicle assessments, road testing, and product validation activities
Removing and fitting suspension components on development vehicles
Performing wheel alignments and mechanical assessments
Liaising with production teams and automotive dealerships
Preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate records
Supporting quality, environmental,



and safety standards
About You
To be successful, you will have:
A Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter, Toolmaker, Mechanic or similar) or Engineering qualification
Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A current South Australian Driver's Licence
Strong problem‐solving skills and the ability to work within a team
Willingness to work overtime when required
Highly Regarded
Experience within automotive manufacturing or suspension systems
Previous sample building, assembly or testing experience
Understanding of aftermarket product development processes
Experience with shock absorbers, springs, or automotive testing equipment
