About the role

The Colley Hotel is seeking a talented full-time commis chef to join our vibrant kitchen team t the Colley Hotel. With two kitchens and two cuisines, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow within the business. This is a hands-on position based in our modern kitchen located in Glenelg, SA 5045. The Colley Hotel will consider sponsorship for a chef of significant experience.

What you'll be doing
Preparing and cooking a wide variety of high-quality dishes from our diverse menu
Collaborating with the head chef to create new and creative menu items
Ensuring all food preparation and cooking tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and presentation
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
Providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to guest requests
Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff as required
Adhering to all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations

What we're looking for
Formal chef training and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role




Strong working knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
Excellent communication and customer service skills
The ability to work effectively in a quick-paced, high-pressure workplace
A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences
A flexible and adaptable approach to work
Food safety certification and a current police check
